Bedroom tour and tips to achieve a calming ‘coastal’ sanctuary

I haven’t done a home decor post in a while, so I thought I would give you a quick tour of my bedroom. When I designed this room, I wanted it to reflect the calm and serenity of the coast.

I’ve always been drawn to the soothing vibes of neutral colurs, so I incorporated a soft palette of whites, beiges, and light greys to create an airy, tranquil space.

The wooden features – whether it’s the bed frame or the side tables – bring a sense of warmth and texture that reminds me of driftwood washed ashore.

To breathe life into the space, I’ve added touches of greenery, subtle but effective, offering a fresh balance. It’s my peaceful retreat, where I can relax, recharge, and be inspired by the simple beauty of coastal living.

Scroll all the way down for my tips on how to create a similar look.

This bed is from Wayfair, it is the Estella upholstered ottoman bed frame with headboard and I’m really pleased with the way it looks in my room.

Creating the look on a budget

1. If you’re looking to achieve a similar coastal look on a budget, start by focusing on paint: soft neutrals that can transform a room without breaking the bank.

2. Shop for secondhand wooden furniture or even upcycle existing pieces with a coat of whitewash or light stain.

3. Add greenery with affordable houseplants or artificial plants for a low-maintenance option.

4. Accessories like woven baskets and coastal-inspired prints can be found at thrift stores or budget homeware shops to complete the look.
