Accras de morue (salt fish fried balls) Recipe

“Accras de Morue” are one of my absolute favourite starters or snacks from the French Caribbean (Antilles), which is where my husband comes from. I’ve been enjoying them since he and I got together, especially on special occasions, they’re actually addictive! I’ve posted a recipe before but this is a revised, better version which I’m hoping you will love.

Red Argentinian shrimp with butter and garlic spaghetti | Recipe

A couple of days ago I made this spaghetti dish, it turned out so delicious I thought I would share the recipe on here! I would normally opt for egg noodles when cooking with bell peppers and spring onion, but I was curious to see how it would taste with spaghetti. And while big fat red Argentinian prawns are the best choice for this particular dish, if you can’t find any, it also works with king prawns.

Why I no longer feel bad about my children seeing the less pretty side of marriage

Our children have seen a lot, and chances are, they’ll continue to see a lot as the years go by. They see us in our cringy lovey dovey moments, just like they see us when we’re at each other’s throat. These days, for example, they see an abundance of love, affection and unity, whereas a few months ago they witnessed quite a lot of anger and pain as I struggled with aspects of my mental health.

It’s taken me years to get to this point and even though I still have a long way to go, it feels good to know I’m on that path.⁣⁣

Changing my kitchen cabinets from ‘oak’ to white – Was it worth it?

Our kitchen is white! Ok, I’ll admit – It’s not much of a revamp, apart from the colour. Everything else is pretty much the same, and a work in progress, as we’re going to change some of the furniture and flooring too…

Thriving in every role – What modern womanhood means to me

I’m proud to embody different versions of what it means to be me. Throughout my adult life I have blossomed professionally, creatively, gained confidence in the workplace.

But I can’t celebrate ‘me’ without mentioning my more domesticated side. I take pride in my love for homemaking just as much as I take pride in my career journey.
