I don’t know if I can call this testimony time… it feels a little premature and random but today I feel very thankfuk and blessed to be able call my creative venture a part-time job, especially during these uncertain times. It’s taken me years to get to this point and even though I still have a long way to go, it feels good to know I’m on that path.
Learn to appreciate even the smallest things.
My tiny (but loyal) following both on my blog and Instagram has opened so many doors. No one can tell me God isn’t behind this! Because I barely have a strategy. I’m just being me and letting things happen. Being able to partner with brands that I didn’t even think would notice me in a sea of hundreds of thousands other micro-influencers; working behind-the-scenes with companies on content creation assignments, even just the simple fact of having an accountant… I don’t take any of it for granted.
I’m not quite ready to quit my day job! And in all honesty I doubt I ever will. But I’m so incredibly grateful for the opportunities that have come my way, this past year especially. I feel like my grind is finally paying off.
Believe in your God-given talent.
I also had to train myself to stop the comparisons with other creators, and of start believing in my own God-given abilities. That part was the hardest. It’s so easy to focus on our failures rather than the things we do well. You really have to embrace all that you are, and focus on your strengths, if you want to win at this.

Keep pouring into your vision until you start seeing fruit.
You guys know me by now and I don’t say this to boast or come across a certain way but I just want to encourage those of you with dreams, no matter how big or small, to keep pouring into your vision until you see some fruit. And your vision does not have to be business-related. It could simply be your vision of what you want your family life to look like, your home, your health, your career, your future…
And I wouldn’t have been able to do this without you guys so thank you for being on this journey with me especially those of you who have watched me from day one, in fact from my early aspirations of being a screenwriter and filmmaker, up until now. It’s been such a joy using my various platforms and creative avenues to tell my stories.
I wanted to keep this post short, because if I was to tell you absolutely everything that’s been going on with my blogging and influencer journey, I’d be here for hours and this post would look like a novel. I’m just so thankful. It’s been a long time coming.
